There are a few tricks you need to employ to kill the unhinged Baker boy for good. We’ve updated this page with more pictures and some additional tips to help you beat Lucas as quickly and easily as possible.

How to Beat Lucas in Resident Evil 7 (Preparation)

Before the fight, you have to go through the hall to find a locked door that requires strength. Lucas can be seen through several glass windows working frantically in front of a computer. Head through the door on the left at the end of the hall to find a power switch. Back in the hall, Lucas will see Chris and run out of the room. Follow him through the locked door once it’s done lighting.

The passage behind the power-locked door will be guarded by a turret. Quickly turn left and enter the room where Lucas was previously to find some incendiary grenades and a lockpick. You also have the opportunity to save and use the item box one last time before the final battle with Lucas.

Once ready, return to the hallway leading to the tower. If you duck to the left in the curtain before the tower, a locker can be opened to find some shotgun shells. Go through the tower and through the door at the end of the hall. After a short conversation, Lucas will attack Chris from behind and push him to the ground, causing Chris to shoot Lucas in the head. Lucas will then mutate into a three-headed giant and the fight will begin.

How to Beat Lucas in Resident Evil 7 (Fight)

You have a few moments before the fight starts, open the many chests scattered around the room and gRab anti-regeneration bullets (RAMROD) from the machine rack in the center of the room. This time should be used as efficiently as possible, as the mutated Lucas is very aggressive and has a jumping lunge attack that he can use at close range, making looting during the fight very risky.

Once the fight is in full swing, you’ll want to do it concentrate shots on Lucas’ head or the weak spot on his chest to deal maximum damage. Using RAMROD ammo will stagger Lucas, similar to the big White Molded boss fight, exposing a red weak spot on his chest for follow-up damage with regular weapons (guns are best here.)

About halfway through the fight, Lucas will briefly retreat to the top of the machine in the middle area (right above where the RAMROD ammo box is) and start releasing spores into the room. Even with an upgraded breathing apparatus, Chris’ oxygen levels would begin to drop. Lucas returned to his onslaught, now more aggressive and able to jump over machines to attack.

Continue damaging and avoiding Lucas while watching for flashing green lights on the walls. This light indicates an oxygen station that you can use to restore your breathing ability when oxygen levels drop drastically. The oxygen station cannot be used while reloading or healing, and poor timing can give Lucas the opportunity to attack and cause significant damage.

Stay out of range and stay focused on Lucas’ weak points until he staggers and starts to melt. The final cutscene will begin and Chris will finish Lucas and his sick game once and for all.
