iMac (2023): Apple's all-in-one gets the new M3 chip

Well, well, well, a new iMac (2023) has been revealed. The design has stayed the same but the new Apple M3 chip has been added.

The new iMac has been revealed but little has changed beyond the jump up to the Apple M3, so those hoping for a bit of a redesign shall be disappointed.

The M3 should be a significant upgrade on the M1 version though, with Apple claiming it’ll provide 2 times the performance. It’ll offer up an 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU and support for up to 24GB of unified memory. Many of the rest of the specifications remain the same, such as the 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, 11.5m frame and 1080p FaceTime camera. Apple also has left the lightning ports on all the iMac accessories, choosing not to bring them into its new USB-C-filled world.

However, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are now both onboard alongside a set of seven colours. The colours available are green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver. The stand is also now made of 100% recycled aluminium.
