BUMN Mutual Cooperation, PTPN Group Distributes Aid and Humanitarian Services to Pidie Jaya Flood Victims

Pidie Jaya, Aceh — The floods that hit Meureudu District, Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh, left humanitarian problems for thousands of residents. In the midst of this situation, PTPN Group through the BUMN Cares program established a humanitarian post and distributed various aid to affected communities. This activity began on December 17 2025 and is planned to continue until the recovery phase.

This humanitarian action was coordinated by Holding Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) involving a number of entities under the PTPN Group, including PTPN IV PalmCo. The presence of BUMN at disaster locations is directed at responding to the urgent needs of residents, as well as assisting the post-flood social recovery process.

President Director of PTPN IV PalmCo, Jatmiko K. Santosa, said that PTPN Group’s involvement was a form of empathy and solidarity with the communities affected by the disaster. According to him, BUMN has a social responsibility to be present and play an active role when society faces difficult situations.

“BUMN not only carries out business functions, but also has moral responsibilities as part of society. We want to ensure that affected residents do not feel alone in facing this disaster,” said Jatmiko, Thursday (18/12/2025).

The BUMN Peduli Command Post was established in Meureudu District, an area with a population of around 19,000 people that was affected by the flood. From this post, PTPN Group distributes logistical assistance, health services, emergency education, as well as psychosocial assistance or trauma healing, especially for children.

Jatmiko emphasized the importance of coordinated and well-targeted aid management. All aid distributed, he said, was guaranteed to reach people who really needed it.

“Every assistance is a trust. Therefore, we ensure that logistical, health and educational support can be received by the community fairly and well managed,” he said.

Various facilities have been prepared at the post, ranging from refugee tents, clothing packages, medicines, cleaning supplies, to school supplies. Apart from that, a public kitchen was also alerted to provide food for residents around the post.

Volunteers Go Directly to the Field

PTPN Group mobilizes volunteers from various entities to be directly involved in handling emergencies, distributing logistics, managing public kitchens, and assisting residents. The focus of assistance was directed especially at the residents of Meunasahbie Village, who recorded that around 344 heads of families were directly affected by the flood.

Specifically, volunteers from PTPN IV PalmCo are tasked with logistics, health, education and psychosocial support. Psychosocial services were provided to around 40 affected children, with the hope of helping the children return to feeling safe, calm and connected.

“We believe that post-disaster recovery is not only physical, but also mental and psychological. A human touch is an important part so that people, especially children, can get back on their feet,” said Jatmiko.

The Head of Meunasahbie Village, Helmi, appreciated the presence and assistance provided by the PTPN Group. According to him, this support is very meaningful for around 1,300 village residents affected by the flood. “In the midst of difficult conditions, this assistance gives hope and new enthusiasm to our community,” said Helmi.

BUMN Mutual Cooperation

Jatmiko emphasized that the humanitarian action in Pidie Jaya was a reflection of the spirit of mutual cooperation which is the basic value of BUMN. Collaboration between entities within the PTPN Group, according to him, shows the presence of the state through BUMN when society needs it.

“This contribution is not just material assistance, but a form of concern and empathy. The state must be present through BUMN to accompany the community through difficult times,” he said.

Through the BUMN Cares program, PTPN Group hopes to make a real contribution to accelerating disaster management in Aceh, as well as strengthening the role of BUMN as an institution that is inseparable from the social life of the community.
