Jakarta, 17 December 2025 – Entering the age of 42, PT BRI Multifinance Indonesia (“BRI Finance”), a subsidiary of the BRI Group, confirms its commitment to environmental sustainability through real support for waste management in the DKI Jakarta area. This initiative is part of BRI Finance’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, especially in the waste cluster.
This program is implemented in collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service, which is based on the same vision of encouraging sustainable waste management and providing a direct impact on the community. In this activity, BRI Finance distributed assistance in the form of two electric motorbike carts, five trash carts, and three sets of waste sorting bins.
The President Director of BRI Finance, Wahyudi Darmawan, said that the distribution of this aid is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of company values which prioritize the triple bottom line principle, namely profit, people and planet. “This is one of our social responsibilities to the planet and people, with the main focus on the planet. Through assistance in the form of carts and trash cans, we hope to contribute to helping overcome the waste problem,” said Wahyudi.
He added that optimal waste management has a strategic role in preserving the environment, especially in reducing the negative impact of plastic waste on the ecosystem. “If plastic waste can be processed better, of course this will really help in saving our environment,” added Wahyudi
Wahyudi also emphasized that BRI Finance consistently carries out the TJSL program every year with a varied focus, ranging from social issues, the environment, to education, in line with the needs and challenges that develop in society. “This is the second time we have collaborated with the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service. Last year we held a vehicle emissions testing program, while this year the focus is on waste management. Every year the theme is different, and in the future we will again look at the most relevant issues to raise,” explained Wahyudi.
For information, BRI Finance has also distributed similar assistance through the Large-Scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) waste cluster program in a number of areas of Jakarta. This assistance includes handing over one unit of electric motorbike cart to BPSRW Sidarling Duren Sawit, East Jakarta; one electric motorbike cart to RW 5 Pegadungan, West Jakarta; two rubbish carts to RW 17 Klender, East Jakarta; as well as three units of trash carts and three sets of waste sorting bins to RW 7 Johar Baru, Central Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service, Asep Kuswanto, expressed his appreciation to BRI Finance for the waste infrastructure support provided. “In the future, we hope that the RW heads and managers who receive this assistance can maintain and utilize all infrastructure well. We also hope that this collaboration does not stop here, but can develop towards business collaboration, including support for financing facilities for waste banks,” said Asep.
Closing the series of activities, Wahyudi hopes that collaboration between the government, business actors and the community can continue to be strengthened to provide a wider and more sustainable impact. “Hopefully this initiative can be taken to a bigger level, for example through a waste management cooperative. In this way, waste will not only be seen as a problem, but also as a business opportunity that can encourage community progress,” concluded Wahyudi.
