Jakarta – PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) supports green energy transformation efforts through Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) services for the development of alternative energy. Director of Industrial Services of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO), Budi Utomo said that the use of alternative energy is one solution in reducing emissions and preserving the environment in a sustainable manner.
“This development is in line with SUCOFINDO’s commitment to supporting the implementation of clean energy and playing an active role in the national energy transformation towards a greener and more sustainable future,” explained Budi Utomo.
In supporting the green energy transformation, PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) applies Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles in every service provided, including environmental risk analysis, construction safety, and compliance with national and international regulations.
“Achieving sustainability targets cannot be done individually, including in green energy transformation, and requires a collective commitment to make it happen,” added Budi Utomo.
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO)’s concrete steps are in line with the efforts of PT Butonas Petrochemical Indonesia which focuses on environmentally sound and sustainable business processes, including through collaborative development of the Methanol Project Development.
“This collaboration marks a step forward in providing cleaner alternative fuels in Indonesia, supporting national energy security, as well as strengthening the independence of the supply of raw materials for the domestic chemical and energy industry,” said Budi Utomo.
Budi Utomo also added that this green initiative is also in line with the government’s efforts to encourage the use of environmentally friendly energy and reduce dependence on methanol imports.
In line with this, the President Director of PT Butonas Petrochemical Indonesia, Ignatius Tallulembang, emphasized that this collaboration is a strategic step in accelerating the construction of a methanol production facility of 1 million tons per year which is expected to be operational in early 2029 and in the future will become one of the integrated production centers in Indonesia.
“Collaboration and joint implementation with SUCOFINDO will ensure that every operational process runs in accordance with applicable quality standards and regulations,” said Ignatius Tallulembang.
He continued, “The synergy with SUCOFINDO will create added value from a socio-economic perspective in the environment around the operational area, while still prioritizing environmentally sound and sustainable business processes, as well as being transparent in compliance with legal corridors and government regulations.”
“All these efforts are expected to be able to make a positive contribution in moving Indonesia towards energy self-sufficiency, which we summarize in the principle of OTOBOSOR (On Time, On Budget, On Specification, On Return),” concluded Ignatius Tallulembang.
To support environmental sustainability, PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) plays an active role in supporting industry to implement green business, namely by providing Green Generation services, including SUCOFINDO’s role as a Validation and Verification Institution for the Greenhouse Gas and Carbon Economic Value schemes, Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventory, environmental monitoring and management automation services, as well as environmental audit and testing services.
