Benyamin asks KONI South Tangerang to act quickly, Banten Province is the main priority

MediaBantenCyber.co.id (MBC), South Tangerang City — The Mayor of South Tangerang, Benyamin Davnie, asked the ranks of the South Tangerang City KONI for the 2025–2029 period to immediately move quickly to prepare for the Banten Province Porprov which will be held next November. He emphasized that this event must be the main priority for the new management.

This request was made after the inauguration of the South Tangerang City KONI management for the 2025–2029 term of office which was held at the Swiss-Belhotel Serpong, Friday (20/2/2026). According to Benyamin, the remaining preparation time must be utilized optimally through consolidation and measured work.

“Don’t be too long. Porprov preparations must begin immediately. Next week there must be a coordination meeting involving all parties,” he stressed.

He emphasized that sport is not just about chasing medals, but also forming character, discipline and mental toughness in the younger generation. Therefore, coaching athletes and improving the quality of coaches must be a serious concern.

The General Chairperson of KONI Tangsel City, Mahludin Sicha or Icha, welcomed this direction with a commitment to get to work straight away. He said that the new management would start by strengthening administrative and regulatory aspects, including the establishment of MPAD as the foundation for program planning.

“The first step we are preparing is to strengthen administration. After that, we will develop a program, determine priority sports, and ensure venue readiness,” said Icha.

He also emphasized that South Tangerang’s target is not just to participate, but to appear competitive and achieve maximum results in the Banten Province Province.

Benyamin also encouraged the involvement of various elements, from regional organizations, business actors, to MSMEs, so that the implementation of Porprov has a broad impact on the region. He ensured that budget support had been prepared with the principles of transparency and accountability.

With the synergy of the government and KONI, it is hoped that Tangsel will not only be successful as host, but will also be able to show proud achievements at the provincial level.
