State of this: 2025

My fellow sector,

If you read my last post in 2024, you will know that my creative victory for last year is quite rare, especially on the literary side. Overall, it is a bag that is quite mixed, although there are some real bright spots along the way. Let’s continue and discuss everything, good proverb, bad, and bad.

The bad news

I think I will change it and convey bad news first. So, let’s continue and get rid of this.

Swing and miss: Beginning of 2024, interesting opportunities arose by itself. One of the four major publishers is interested in one of my fantasy texts. It was sent submitting and we waited … and waited. For months passing without news, but publishing is not a game for those who are impatient. Finally, the editor in question stops communicating with us. This makes frustration, because it takes years to reach this position only for editors to basically make us ghosts. But, actually there is a sign of difference for a writer in having a ‘die when submitted.’ That means you almost Until there, because the next step is a book agreement. Next time, if I can reach one step higher, I have to be in a better land. As is the case with publishing, nothing is there to something. Back to Square One.

Situation shifted: In addition to the number of personal disputes this year, I also changed jobs around the middle of the year, and both of them have become one of the most difficult professional transitions in my career and are very different from whatever I have done. Between that and some other potential work problems with my family, stress and lack of mental bandwidth attract me out of my regular writing schedule. I could not find a way back to mid -November (more about it below). So, as a result, I have very little to be displayed on the fiction. Almost every goal that I made last year failed, and I am not sure when I will be able to surround them again. I made a marginal progress in the sci-fi novel that I mentioned in the last state of the address of this sector, but even it finally crashed into a brick wall. If there is good news, it is a vacation vacation to see new fires in my pulse when I came to my fiction. We will see how the fare is now after my vacation is finished.

M Sector Shop is Closed: I will close the M sector shop in February. I will not delete it completely if there has been a new need for that. Unfortunately, this requires the amount of proper maintenance and cost to keep it running, and the sale of any sector is effectively having an effective flat line. So, I will update all the designs currently available for now, but I plan to turn it off on Saturday, February 1. So, if there is an attractive design for you, now it will be the right time to use it. You can find the M sector shop here.

The future sector of M Games’ is uncertain: This year, we published two titles at DMS Guild, Artificial Guide for Magic Items And Knight Solammnia Reviewed. Both have been well received by the community, and both are displayed in the DMS Guild weekly bulletin. I do have a script for the third installment for DMS Guild, but it seems that it needs to be suspended in the future. With so many uncertainties in my family situation, my disposable income (which I use to finance my game project) may not be available for some time. My philosophy for this supplement always makes it the best possible, and I want to stay in that. So, I prefer to postpone the project until they can be approached with high standards rather than trying to be in a hurry. If something changes in the front, I will make a special update post here on the blog to tell everyone.

The time deadline of the blog is shaky: As a writer, I like to meet my time deadline consistently. My track record with the 2024 blog post is … problematic, especially when the year passed. I still send all the twelve as intended, but I find myself having to adjust the date of publication, sometimes some weeks to completely send it. I will try to be more consistent in 2025, although many of the same factors cause the delay to still play a role. For this next year, here is my target date for a new blog every month. Of course, there may be some space, but this is the schedule that I follow now:

The good news

Okay, I know that Lots On the path of bad news. Believe me, if it is difficult for you to get through, it’s just as difficult for me to write. Not every year the wheel only comes out of almost everything. Considering all the wrong or not realized this year, it makes bright spots shine all that is brighter.

The best months of blogs: Traffic on this blog must have been taken in recent years. I now get traffic in a week which may take one or two months before that. I think part of it is a routine update, in my case at least once a month. I have had this blog since May 2013, and as far as I know, October, November, and December this year are the top three months ever. I know that many blogs tend to be specialized and especially about one thing. This blog is a kind of museum and historical flower, nerd/geeky things, writing topics, and only strange things that cross my mind. Thank you for returning and checking it. Release of DMS Guild: As I stated above, we released two titles at the DMS Guild in 2024, one in January and the other in November. Artificial Guide for Magic Items Broadly than both, and available as a PDF that can be downloaded or as a hardcopy format (if you get a hardcopy, you also get the PDF version for free). Other titles, Knight Solammnia was reviewedis for Dragonlance fans, and that is only available as PDF. I really intend to follow up on both with several FAQs and examples of PDFs that will be available as free downloads. It is being done, even though I am not sure at the time of this writing when they will be ready to be released. However, if you have not taken a copy of one of the titles/two titles, check. I am proud of the results.

An unexpected magician story: As often happens, when I write other stories, I always have disturbing ideas for other stories. When I struggled (and finally failed) to defend the sci-fi novel utas, I had an idea for fantasy novels that followed up after one of my fantasy texts. I finally decided to start compiling it around mid -November, and the story had just flowed to the keyboard. The average number of my words per hour more than doubled for each writing session, which told me that I was really called in it. Even with a vacation, which could be a murder on the writing schedule, I was happy to say that I finished the initial draft at 11:30 pm on December 31. So, if I did not achieve anything else on the fiction side in 2024, I could start and end this novel, which recorded under 27,000 words. Of course, this is a hot chaos now, but one of my projects for January will make it a country that can be read for my beta reader.

Road ahead

Usually, this will be a part where I will describe my goals and projects for the new year, but I suffered a loss for now. I have finished the novel wizard, and I am now loose, at least at this time of writing. Until I know more about how this year it will be revealed, and the possibility of consequences that will occur in my family, difficult to make long -term plans at this time.

I have a sci-fi novel that is partly finished I can try to finish it, or I can review the cyberpunk novels that I have about two complete-thirds (both have a special place in my heart, even if I have to put it). Or, I can try something really new. I have not decided, even though the short-middle fiction has an attraction because there are fewer time involved per project, usually between several weeks and several months. I hope I have a definite answer, but the road ahead is now too foggy for me to see.

Rest assured I will land something. I hardly want to have another year creatively like 2024 if I can help. If 2024 has taught me one thing, we are here for a shorter time than we think. I feel that I almost did not scratch the surface of the story that I wanted to tell. If I will do it soon before my time runs out, I have to stay focused.

So, that is my hope that if I can reverse my situation, I will be able to open the state of the 2026 sector address with words: How difference is a year.
